Cyndi Baak - Run/Walk Coach
|
I am Cyndi Baak, a proud coach with Team in Training. I am working on my sixth season with this amazing organization. I have been a runner all of my life for fitness and sanity. I have done 3 marathons and numerous half marathons since I have finished having a family. My passion for long distance running takes me on many journey's physically and mentally. I have been able to share my passion with many people who I often 'run' into and who are still running. I coach people to enjoy running, that is my goal when I work with participants. I began with Team In Training in 2008 and having been coaching with them ever since. It is truly is a privilege to be part of Team In Training. Each time I coach I meet and learn so much about those people who choose to take on this adventure and make a difference in the world of cancer. Each Team In Training season makes memories from beginning to end. There are always a lot of laughs, sometimes tears and many successes throughout the season. A consistent memory every season is the finish line. The finish line presents a proud moment for any of the participants as they finish a race and accomplish their goal, they may not always be pretty but they are memorable! As a coach with Team In Training my goal is to do the best I can and work with the participants for an experience they will always remember. |

Mary Jessey - Triathlon Coach
My name is Mary Jessey and I am thrilled to be a member of the Team In Training coaching crew. I love the sport of triathlon and am excited and eager to train, guide and share my passion for the sport with everyone who signs up for the St. Anthony's Olympic distance triathlon in St. Petersburg Florida.I got involved in Triathlon over 7 years ago after I had my kids as a way to kick start my fitness. I was a competitive swimmer through university but couldn't run very far and had never biked. With the help of a coach I grew from a sprint to ironman distance athlete during a personal journey with too many milestones to count. I am now a NCCP certified Competition Level Triathlon Coach and I can't wait to work with TNT athletes on their own personal journeys of accomplishment for such a worthy cause.Whether you are a first timer or seasoned triathlete, get ready to have fun while you improve your swim, bike and run confidence, fitness and technique on the way to the start line in April 2013. |

Andrea Bell - Triathlon Coach
|
Hello to the Team In Training triathlon participants and those who are considering racing for a worthy cause! I am Andrea Bell and am excited to be joining the new Team In Training triathlon program as your coach, providing you with encouragement for the swim, bike and run disciplines in your race. What I hope to offer for the 2012 season is an abundance of motivation, support and technical advice for making sure your event is the best it can be. As a biking enthusiast with a strong swimming background, I thought i would add running to the list and put it all together to start participating in triathlon events. I have participated in several sprints and Olympic distance triathlons and am presently training for a half ironman this season. Additionally, I have assisted in three triathlon weekend training camps, providing a variety of athletes with training ideas, programs and information. Let's kick start your swimming, biking and running skills to put you on the path to a successful season! |

Danielle Carpenter - Run/Walk Coach

My name is Danielle and this is my third season with Team In Training. I started out 2 years ago as a nervous and excited participant, ended up having an amazing time and came back for a second season as a Mentor. I then went to instruct and co-instruct some other running groups and realized the joy in helping others realize their love for running. I started running 6 years ago to lose a little weight and stay healthy and it just stuck with me! Since then I have completed 2 marathons, 6 half marathons and many other races, both on road and trail. I run for the pure joy of the activity but especially love training and preparing for races. I'm armed with information from previous coaches, many books and some trial and error techniques learned over the years. Being able to run marathons in support of such an amazing organization and to have a team supporting you the whole way is one of the best feelings I've experienced. I am happy and excited to be back with Team In Training for another season! |

Alison Klippenstein - Run/Walk Coach
|
Hi everyone! I have been part of Team in Training since February 2010. After participating in back to back seasons (running in Seattle and Kaua'i), I was an assistant coach for the 2011 spring season and helped lead the team through many cold, snowy GTS's to the BMO Vancouver Marathon! Fall 2011 was my first coaching season, with my team participating in the Nike Women's Marathon and the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon. Seeing my participants cross the finish line was an amazing and humbling experience! This year I'll be a TNT participant in the 2012 Nike Women's Marathon. I can't wait to start training with such an incredible bunch of people again. GO TEAM! |

Warren Parker - Triathlon Coach
|
Hi, I'm Warren and am excited to be given the opportunity to coach for triathlon as it's truly a passion of mine and like to see people improve and succeed. Born in England and moved to Canada at 14 I was very involved in soccer. I played competitive soccer for most of my life and turned to triathlon in 1998 when it was a very up and coming sport. Many of the first years I focused on sprint and Olympic distances before switching to ironman distances in 2006. Since my start in triathlon I have completed 4 ironmans and countless Olympic and sprint distances. As well as my career as a mental health therapist, for the last few years I have been training individuals ranging from abosolute beginners to people preparing for world ITU championships. The sport of triathlon has been very good to me and so many people have been affected by cancer in my family. I can't think of a better way to give back to the sport and aid in cancer research. |

Julia Rickard - Run/Walk Coach
|
Hi everyone! I'm Julia Rickard. I just finished coaching my first season with Team In Training and look forward to doing it again. I got involved with the program in the Spring of 2011 and went to San Diego. I joined Team In Training beacause I was new to the city and thought it would be a good way to meet people, doing what I like to do, run! I had such a great experience training with the Team that I decided to stay involved in the program, so coaching seems like a good way to do that and its been great! I've really enjoyed seeing all of the participants from our team turn into marathon runners over over the course of 5 months and look forward to training again for another season! Welcome to the Team! |

Saskatoon
Hope Jervis - Run/Walk Coach
|
This is my first experience with Team In Training and I am super excited to support such a great cause as the coach for Saskatoon! I took the leap to move out West in 2010 where I teach massage therapy at college here and maintain a small practice. I have enjoyed running for many years on the track, outdoors, after my dogs and on the rugby pitch. I have experience as a massage therapist, kinesiologist and personal trainer and I look forward to using my knowledge to help you train properly, prevent injury and most of all, have a great time! I can hardly wait to coach you, support you and cheer for you as you head toward the finish line! |

Carly Priebe - Run/Walk Coach
| This is my 5th season as a coach with Team In Training. As a Ph.D. student in kinesiology and an NCCP certified coach, I find coaching to be a great way to share my knowledge and promote physical activity. I believe my primary role is to assist athletes by giving them the tools they need to reach their goals. For some athletes, these goals might involve reaching a certain performance criteria while for others the goal might simply be to finish a race with a smile. I am especially excited to be coaching for Team In Training as I believe the goal the participants hold are particularly special. To finish a race is one thing but to do it to raise money for a cause and/or for people you love is another. When not coaching TNT athletes, I also coach and compete in triathlon. For the past two years I have coached Canada's top para-triathletes at their World Championships in Beijing and Budapest. Go Team! |
